Terms of use
DoorLine is a **free matching service** for US home buyers and sellers. We share general education, help you compare options, and connect you with licensed local real-estate agents if you want.
What DoorLine does
DoorLine is not a real-estate brokerage, agent, lender, attorney, or tax advisor. We do not list homes, buy or sell property, negotiate deals, appraise homes, approve loans, or give legal, mortgage, financial, or tax advice.
What we do is simpler:
- Share general, plain-language information about buying and selling a home
- Help you understand common steps, costs, and questions
- Match you, at no cost to you, with a licensed local real-estate agent if you ask for that help
If you want to compare agents, start here: get matched. If you are learning the basics first, read how buying a home works or how selling a home works.
You stay in control. You compare agents. You choose who to talk to. You choose whether to sign anything.
Using the site and information on it
Everything on DoorLine is for general educational purposes only. We try to keep information current and useful, but housing rules, market conditions, loan programs, closing costs, and local practices can change.
Please use common sense when relying on information from the site:
1. Treat prices, costs, commissions, taxes, and timelines as typical ranges or estimates, not promises.
2. Confirm local details with a licensed real-estate agent and, when needed, a licensed lender or attorney.
3. Read and confirm every agreement, service, and fee in writing before you sign.
4. Verify any professional license yourself with the proper state or local licensing authority.
If money will move during a transaction, use extra care. Wire fraud is real. Always confirm wiring instructions by calling a trusted number for the title company, attorney, lender, or other provider before sending money.
How matching works
DoorLine's matching service is free to consumers. Participating agents may pay DoorLine a flat marketing fee to be included in our marketing and matching program.
That does not mean every agent is right for every person. You should still interview agents and compare:
- Experience with your type of move or timeline
- Communication style and language support
- Knowledge of your price range and local market
- Proposed services, terms, and any fees
DoorLine follows the Fair Housing Act. All buyers and sellers are welcome. We do not match or discuss homes, neighborhoods, or agents based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, or any other protected class. When we talk about areas, we focus on lawful, objective factors like commute, price, amenities, and public information. You can learn more here: your fair housing rights.
Your responsibilities when using DoorLine
To use DoorLine responsibly, please:
- Give accurate contact and goal information so we can respond and, if requested, help match you
- Use the service for lawful personal or household real-estate purposes
- Avoid sending sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or other financial account details through basic forms
- Review agent agreements, buyer representation agreements, listing agreements, and any fee disclosures carefully
If you choose to work with an agent, lender, attorney, inspector, title company, or other provider, that relationship is between you and that provider. DoorLine is not a party to your purchase contract, listing agreement, loan, or closing documents.
Limits, updates, and contact
DoorLine may update site content, service details, or these terms from time to time. By continuing to use the site, you accept the current version.
We may limit misuse of the site, including spam, false submissions, scraping, or attempts to interfere with the service. We may also decline to provide a match if information appears incomplete, misleading, or outside the scope of the service.
Before moving forward with any home purchase or sale, work with a licensed real-estate agent, verify licenses yourself, and confirm every important term in writing. If you are comparing costs, our general guides on closing costs can help you prepare better questions.
Use DoorLine to learn the basics and, if you want, get matched for free with a licensed local agent. Then compare your options, verify licenses, read every agreement and fee in writing, and confirm any wiring instructions by phone before sending money.
